Sherry Blevins frequently serves as a clinician for honor choirs and leads workshops on choral techniques and the motivation of singers across the Southeastern United States. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a concentration in voice from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Master’s degree in Music Education with a concentration in Choral Conducting from Appalachian State University.

In 2009, Ms. Blevins accepted a position as University Supervisor of student teachers and instructor for the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University. For the past 18 years Ms. Blevins has taught music at the college, middle, and elementary levels. She has worked with the Charlotte Children’s Choir since 1998 as Associate Director. In addition she directs neighborhood choirs in under-served areas of Mecklenburg County of North Carolina. Ms. Blevins is also the Music Director of Paw Creek Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, N.C. leading the adult, youth, and children’s choirs.

Some of Ms. Blevins’ proudest accomplishments are being nominated by her colleagues in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System as their state nominee for teacher of the year. At her most recently-attended choral festival, Ms. Blevin’s received superiors in all categories. In 2008, she co-wrote, directed and sang the lead vocals for the educational film, “Ready, Set, Go” which was distributed to every district in North Carolina. In 2009 she helped to found a missions and outreach program called “Paw Creek Center for the Arts” which helps provide private music lessons and instruments to students in need.
